1. Eligibility
The App is intended for use by individuals aged 14 years or older. If you are under that age, you may use the App only with the involvement and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
The App offers an age-appropriate "first-period" mode for users under 17, derived from the date of birth you enter. This does not change the minimum age requirement above; it adjusts the educational content shown.
2. Medical Disclaimer (Not a Medical Device)
The App is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.
- No professional advice. Predictions, insights, and educational content (including pregnancy, postpartum, and peri-menopause modules) are estimates based on population data and the information you enter. Staging frameworks used in the App (such as STRAW+10 for peri-menopause) are standardised classification systems, not diagnostic tools. Predictions during the menopause transition are provided as ranges to reflect physiological variability and are not guarantees of future events.
- Consult a provider. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any question about a medical condition, pregnancy, or postpartum recovery. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in the App.
- Red flags. The App does not screen for clinical conditions such as Postpartum Depression (PPD), pre-eclampsia, or Venous Thromboembolism (VTE). If you experience symptoms that worry you or feel "off," contact a medical professional immediately.
3. Contraception, Fertility, and LAM Disclaimer
The App tracks fertility indicators but is not a contraceptive method. No method of fertility awareness is 100% effective.
Lactational Amenorrhoea Method (LAM)
The App may surface information regarding the Lactational Amenorrhoea Method (LAM). LAM is only considered effective (~98%) when all three "Bellagio Criteria" are met simultaneously:
- You are less than 6 months postpartum.
- You are exclusively (or near-exclusively) breastfeeding.
- Your menstrual periods have not yet returned.
4. Reminders, Alarms, and Medication Tracking
The App can remind you to take a medication or supplement, warn you when a tracked supply is running low, and remind you about appointments. A medication reminder may be marked as an alarm, which repeats until you answer it and, with your permission, can turn the screen on and appear over your lock screen.
- Delivery is not guaranteed. Reminders are scheduled with your device's operating system, and the operating system decides whether and when they fire. Battery optimisation, "doze" and power-saving modes, force-stopping the App, clearing its data, revoking its notification or alarm permissions, silent or do-not-disturb modes, a device that is switched off or out of battery, a system update, or a restore onto a new device may delay a reminder, silence it, or stop it firing at all. Some of these are outside our control entirely.
- Alarms depend on permissions you control. The over-the-lock-screen alarm needs a permission your device may ask you for separately and that you may refuse or revoke at any time. Where it is not granted, the reminder is delivered as an ordinary notification instead.
- The App does not check your medicines. It stores the name, dose text, and schedule exactly as you type them. It does not verify doses, check for interactions or contraindications, warn about allergies, or know anything about what you are taking. It is not a pharmacy service, a dispensing aid, or a medication-management system, and it does not replace the instructions given to you by your prescriber or on the packaging.
- Supply and refill counts are estimates. A remaining-quantity warning counts down from a number you entered, based on doses the App believes are due. It cannot know what you actually took, or what is actually left in the packet.
- Adherence history is a self-report, not a medical record. What the App shows you is what you told it — taken, skipped, snoozed, or no answer. It is not evidence of what you took, and it is not a clinical record. Do not present it as one.
If a medication matters clinically, use a dedicated safeguard as well: your prescriber's instructions, a pill organiser, a pharmacy service, or another person.
5. Data Privacy and Local Storage
As described in our Privacy Policy:
- Local storage. All your data is stored on your device in an AES-256 encrypted database (SQLCipher).
- No servers of ours. The App does not request internet access, makes no network connection, and sends nothing to any service operated by us. We have no copy of your data and no way to obtain one.
- Off-device copies are your choice. Two optional features, both off unless you switch them on, can result in an encrypted backup file existing somewhere other than this device: saving automatic backups into a folder you nominate, which a cloud app you already use may then sync, and letting Android copy one encrypted backup to your Google Drive. In both cases the transfer is performed by that other app or by your operating system, under its terms, not by the App.
- On-device copies. The App keeps a small number of encrypted copies of its own database on your device so that a failed update or a damaged file can be recovered. These are covered in Section 4a of the Privacy Policy. They are not a backup: they live on the same device and are lost with it.
- User responsibility. You are solely responsible for the security of your device, your screen-lock credential, your App-Lock PIN, and any backup passphrases you choose. We cannot recover your data if your device is lost, stolen, damaged, factory-reset, or if the App is uninstalled.
6. Data Export and Backup
The App provides tools for you to manage your own data portability:
- Encrypted backups (
.ctbk). You can generate an encrypted backup file. The file is encrypted on your device with a passphrase you choose before it leaves the App. - Encrypted PDF report (
.pdf.enc). You may generate a passphrase-protected PDF report for sharing with a healthcare provider. - Passphrase responsibility. We do not see, store, or have any way to reset your backup passphrase. If you lose this passphrase, the data within that backup file is permanently unrecoverable, including by us.
- Automatic backups (optional). You may nominate a folder and have the App write an encrypted backup there once a day. Because no one is present to type a passphrase when that runs, switching this on stores your backup passphrase in your device's protected keystore; switching it off deletes it. You are responsible for choosing a folder that suits you, for knowing whether it leaves your device, and for confirming from time to time that backups are actually being written. We do not guarantee that any automatic backup will run, complete, or be usable — see Section 12.
- Copying backups to your Google Drive (optional). On Android you may allow the operating system's own backup service to carry one encrypted backup file to the Google Drive of the account on your phone. That transfer, its retention, and its availability on a new device are controlled by Android and Google under their terms, not ours.
- Third-party storage. When you share an exported file via your device's share sheet, or write one into a folder belonging to another app, you choose the destination (cloud drive, email, messaging app, local folder). Once the file leaves the App, its security is governed by the destination service's terms, not ours.
- Verify your backups. A backup is only useful if it restores. Before you rely on one — for example before resetting or replacing your phone — check that you still have the passphrase and that the file is where you expect it to be.
7. Acceptable Use
When using the App, you agree NOT to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the App.
- Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.
- Redistribute, sublicense, sell, rent, or lease the App or any portion of it.
- Use the App in a manner that interferes with another user's enjoyment of the App, or in violation of any law or regulation.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its source code (except for components subject to open-source licences listed in Settings → About → Open-source licences), brand name, logo, educational content, illustrations, and UI design, is the intellectual property of Sowmiya B or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
Third-party open-source components are governed by their respective licences, viewable from within the App.
9. Subscription and Payments
The App is currently offered free of charge. If we introduce paid features, subscriptions, or in-app purchases in the future:
- The applicable terms and pricing will be presented to you within the App at the time of purchase, and you must agree to them before any charge.
- All purchases will be processed by the respective platform store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) under that store's payment, billing, refund, and cancellation terms.
- We do not handle, store, or have access to your payment-card details.
10. Termination
These Terms remain in effect for as long as you use the App. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
We may suspend or terminate your right to use the App, with or without notice, if you materially breach these Terms. On termination, the provisions that by their nature survive termination (including Sections 2, 3, 4, 11, 12, 13, and 14) will continue in effect.
Because the App stores data only on your device, termination does not require us to delete data from any server — we have none. Uninstalling the App or choosing Settings → Erase all data removes the App's data from your device.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither Sowmiya B nor its directors, employees, contractors, or licensors shall be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from or related to:
- Your use of, or inability to use, the App.
- Any reliance placed on the App's predictions, educational content, or tracking outputs.
- Any unauthorised access to your device, App data, or backup files resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to user negligence, weak device security, rooted/jailbroken devices, or compromised operating systems.
- Any pregnancy, conception outcome, contraceptive failure, health complication, or medical outcome occurring during or after your use of the App.
- Loss of data due to device failure, uninstallation, factory reset, lost backup passphrases, or an automatic backup that did not run, did not complete, or could not be restored.
- Any reminder or alarm that is delivered late, delivered silently, or not delivered at all, and any missed, late, doubled, or incorrect dose or appointment connected with it — including where the cause is your device's operating system, its power-saving behaviour, or a permission that was refused or revoked.
- Any reliance on the adherence history, refill warnings, or medication details shown in the App, all of which reflect only what you entered.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD 10.00.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain liabilities (notably for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud); in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
12. "As Is" Basis
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. While we strive to use evidence-based algorithms, we do not guarantee that any prediction (such as period start dates, ovulation, or fertile window) will be accurate.
In particular, and without limiting the above, we do not warrant that any reminder or alarm will fire, that it will fire at the time you set, that it will be audible or visible when it does, or that any automatic backup will run, complete, or produce a file that can later be restored.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sowmiya B from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by any third party arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the App, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The courts located in Chennai (Tamil Nadu, India) shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the App, except where prohibited by your local consumer-protection law.
If you reside in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer-protection laws apply, nothing in this Section limits the protections you have under those laws.
15. Open-Source Components
The App uses third-party open-source software. A complete list of these components and their licences is available within the App at Settings → About → Open-source licences (Flutter's standard licence page). Your use of those components is governed by their respective licences.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. For material changes affecting your rights or obligations, we will surface a notice in the App on next launch and require you to acknowledge it before continuing.
Your continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to a change, you must stop using the App and uninstall it.
